MacKay Adventure Consultants (MAC) is a global specialized safety/security management and adventure tourists consultancy business specializing in advising individuals and business on operational management in hazardous workplaces. These include corporate organizations, adventure travel industry engaging in extreme adventurous pursuits and sporting activities. We are also experts in the military aspects of preparing for operations in hazardous environments including, adventurous and physical training.

MAC provides quality Subject Matter Experts (SME) advice to our clients.  We are registered with the British Safety Council and can conduct accident investigations in accordance with the Health and Safety Executive directives and procedures. In addition we have trained Trauma Risk Management (TRIM) Practitioners in support. We can assist and advise in crisis management, if necessary provide a competent Law Society registered Expert Witness in the event of pending litigation.

The Business was founded 10 years ago by William MacKay, having retired early as an officer in the Army to devote more time to developing a distinct niche in the market of hazardous workplace safety/security management and adventure risk. As an IFMGA mountain guide he is able to concentrate on his other interest of mountain and ski guiding which compliments the overall business. The adventure activities side of MAC, mmmsports.co.uk compliments the consultancy and ensures competency in offering Expert Witnesses in the field of remote workplace operations, expeditions, mountaineering and skiing.  MAC is check registered with the Law Society’s of England, Scotland and Ireland.

The founder of MAC has a proven background in hazardous operations and adventure risk management consultancy, having formed and established the first MoD (Army) Subject Matter Expert appointment with the now well known Land Accident Investigation Team (LAIT), providing expert advice during investigations into military training, operations, adventurous training, physical training, sports and adventurous near miss incidents.  In addition, the appointment with LAIT provides advice to the Government legal teams and acts as Expert Witness on military Board of Inquiries.  A vital requirement was to provide expert advice to leaders of military adventurous training expeditions worldwide, in particular operations and expeditions categorized as High Risk and/or Remote.  It also advises the Army’s policy branch on Health and Safety issues and technical matters appertaining to operations, adventurous and physical training in general. MAC currently offers the similar service to Law Firms, Government agencies, film/television/media companies, industries and private individuals worldwide.

The vast experience gained by the founder and other consultants over the last 30 years enables us to offer expertise in the field of hazardous operations, adventurous training, physical training, sports teaching and coaching. The founder is President of the British Mountain Guides, holds the highest Internationally recognized mountain guide and ski teaching award and is a member of the Union International Association Guide Montange (UIAGM) and International Ski Instructors Association (ISIA).  William has worked extensively in hazardous workplaces worldwide both in the military and civilian environment and is available to discuss any issues at your convenience regarding the services of MacKay Adventure Consultants.
